Welcome to the Rockaway Meadow Band Program!

Here are a few tips to help your child practice at home:

Instead of setting an amount of time to practice each week, have your child set a goal for what they would like to work on. We do this each week at the end of each lesson, but your child can set more than one goal a week.
Slow things down. If your child is having a hard time playing through the music, have them slow it down. Once they feel comfortable with it, they can begin to speed it back up.
Don’t give up! Sometimes, practicing can be frustrating for a child. Instead of doing the same thing over and over, use some of the different practicing techniques we have gone over in class and try a different approach!
