Winter News

All Resource Room students are continuing their reading with novels, RAZ Kids or Nessy both in school and at home. Students at each grade level have set individual goals for independent reading time.  Please check with your child and support them as needed for this home to school connection.

Currently, all grade levels are working on or about to begin nonfiction reading and writing units. Please feel free to pick up an educational article, book, or magazine to extend this at home and become an expert on a topic.

Throughout the year, your child has been using Reflex Math (grades 1-5) in class, and should be logging in at home as well. Each child’s goal is to receive a green light at least 3 times per week. If you can encourage your child to earn more than 3 green lights per week, that would be fantastic! This practice will enhance and support their Math skills during instructional time.

You can also practice addition, subtraction and multiplication math facts (Grades 2 - 5) with your child regularly. This skill enables them to achieve greater success on their math assignments.

Kindergarten and first grade students should also review their sights words every night.

Since all of our children have individualized programs, please feel free to reach out to us anytime.
